Spinach bacon pasta salad

Alfredo.

This "instant" miso soup tastes as good as the real thing, just not as thick.

Silog

Another first! This time is Filipino. (Also my second food truck experience.)

I've had Filipino before but never Silog, which is Tagalog for garlic rice with soft-boiled egg. It's a combination of sinangag (garlic rice) and itlog (egg).

Longsilog. "Long" stands for Longanisa, the Filipino sweet sausage.

Tapsilog (beef).

The rice is SO garlicky. The last few bites were a bit overwhelming even for a garlic lover like myself who's been guilty of applying garlic generous, exceeding the tolerance of company. Wow, they mean business! But all in all i still loved it and would have it again. Next time: Bangsilog ("Bang" from bangus, or milk fish. Looks good grilled!)

Korean Mexican Fusion

My first food truck experience.

Short rib and rib eye tacos

Spicy pork quesadillas with Chipotle sauce

Short rib sliders (uncut)

Jalapeño chutney and extra Chipotle sauce

Freddy Krueger Tent

Set up by a neighbor.

More Alimentary Adventures 15

Toroniku spicy miso ramen

The broth was rich as ramen broth should be and, to my pleasant surprise, piquant enough. Noodles were cooked to perfection.

Great ingredients, great portions. Crossed another renowned ramen joint off my list. I see why they're so popular.

A tasty authentic Japanese beverage to wash it down. Another first this was too.
