The cover of this new Marvel comic series resonates.

Lunch with RJ 12

Beef braciola

Capellini with scallops, rock shrimp and grilled prawns in spicy tomato cream sauce and sun-dried tomato pesto. As told to Denisse, i could have any noodle with this sauce, meatless. It is that good. Course i could never turn down seafood.

After having studied menus studiously (ha, ha) as of late, i've come to marvel at the distinction between "and" and "with" when it comes to describing a dish. Subtle difference, but the difference is there. Oh, the beauty of language!

The "U" key on this laptop has turned sticky.

Steal

Upright roaster for dripping fat, a find at the thrift store for a dollar!

Dinner with RJ 2

Meatloaf with fried potato cakes where i called "not a culinary mecca" with a population of 1,370.

RJ makes fried potato cakes far, far better.

Retreat 4

I was thrilled to have found a Portuguese winery. To my dismay the woman hosting the winetasting did not pronounce the "çao" part correctly. It should be "sung". She said "ko". Tsk tsk. What a disgrace. My heart broke a little. (I was also disappointed by the absence of the squiggly called the Cedilla beneath the letter "c". Hey, i have Character Map and i use it, okay?)

After posing this metallic figure with hinged joints, RJ asked, "Does this make me gay?"

Something about crackled glass that has always appealed to me. Maybe i can relate to tempered, riddled with flaws, but never quite breaking. And everyone can't help but be a little amused with their reflection on it.

Porcine 27

Somewhat found solace in these whimsical tiles while suffering a bout of painful cramps and what i've coined "involuntary bulimia".

Lunch with RJ 11

Assam tea

Celery root and potato soup with crispy prosciutto

Eggs Benedict with cayenne Mornay

Togarashi seared Hawaiian Ahi mango salad with wasabi vinaigrette, soy reduction and ginger gastrique. This was so good i almost cried tears of joy.
